ICCE becomes the leading provider of Chartered Economist designation globally.
The Institute of Certified Chartered Economists — ICCE which was established in February 2021 in the United States of America (USA), is now the leading provider of the Chartered Economist designation which is accessible globally.
The ICCE is a membership-based professional body for economists, committed to raising economics professionals with the highest ethical standards through quality education and collaborative learning.
In a statement released by the Institute, “our commitment is to become the leading qualification for today and tomorrow’s economists. We are to be gradually realizing our lead objective. “
The Institute offers the Chartered Economist designation which is open to and accessible to all learners globally. Members who join the Institute are required to complete the ICCE curriculum through series of examinations before been awarded the respected Chartered Economist designation.
To be eligible for enrolment, a learner must at least be admitted to a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. First year students are allowed to apply. All the ICCE examination are offered via the Computer Based-Testing and accessible remotely.
The Institute’s curriculum currently consists of thirteen papers categorized into three levels as well as specialization gateways. Learners have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as Financial Economics, Health Economics, Petroleum Economics, Energy Economics, Managerial Economics, Marine Economics, Industrial Economics amongst others.
“With the professional specialization gateway, members are given the opportunity to choose their own pathway without being restricted. Economics is a comprehensive discipline and we intend to keep it that way” the Institute stated.
The Institute is governed by the Governing Council and International Board of Standards which consists of distinguished economists from academia, industry, and experts from different parts of the world.
The Institute recently appointed Dr. Frannie Leautier, a former Vice President of the World Bank Group, Professor. H.K. Pradhan, Professor of Finance and Economics at XLRI, Professor. Lalima Mukherjee, Professor of Economics at the University of Engineering and Management Kolkata, Dr. Mustapha Ibn-Boamah, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of New Brunswick in Canada; Dr. Barun K. Thakur, Associate Professor of Economics at FLAME University, India; Dr. M. Azhar Hussain, Associate Professor of Economics at the Roskilde University in Denmark and Danelee Masia, Chief Economist, South Africa and Nigeria at the Deutsche Bank as members of its Governing Council and International Board of Standards.
