Even though I started on Fiverr when it was already a saturated platform, I still found success as a Fiverr Freelancer! Here are the 3 strategies I used to stand out.

  1. Use videos for your gigs.

A video for your Fiverr gig allows you to quickly introduce yourself with general info, and relevant experience, and present your gig as a service.

Selling gig visitors on your service with a video and images is MUCH easier than only using images. When it boils down to it, people prefer watching over reading.

A few things to keep in mind when making your gig video…

  • Keep it short — videos shouldn’t be longer than 1-minute.
  • Straight to the point — don’t waste your gig visitor’s time. Their attention span is short, give them the important details ASAP!
  • Don’t be a sales rep — you shouldn’t be hyping up your gig or expertise. Talk although you’re submitting your services for consideration. Give your gig visitors ONLY the important details. Skip all the fancy adjectives when describing your Fiverr gig.

2. Make your cover image POP from the rest.

With how saturated Fiverr is, it’s important to stand out when people are searching in a niche relevant to your gig.

There are going to be hundreds if not thousands of results before your gig, here’s how to stand out.

  • Choose colors that are against your competitors’ gig colors. For example, in the “Web Design” niche, everyone is using bright colors full of vibrance. This gig stood out to me because it’s got monotone colors. Making your cover pop doesn’t mean making it bright!
  • Put your face on your cover. When potential customers see your face on your cover image, it builds an instant relationship. Creating that connection right off the bat is crucial to securing your first few customers!

3. Offer GREAT customer service!

This is the true secret to getting good reviews on Fiverr. Offering the best customer service in your niche is crucial to obtain returning customers and new customers that come with more 5-star reviews!

Here are some ways you can offer AMAZING customer service…

  • Always answer their revision requests with yes. EVEN if they’ve run out of the 2, 3, 4, revisions you offer, if your customer needs something changed with the design/service, give them your best customer service and say “no problem!”.
  • Complete the project at least 24 hours before it’s due. Here’s a trick you can do to make this easy! Calculate how much time it’ll take to complete your service, then add 1 more day to the time required of that service’s gig. When you deliver a good quality project early, there’s a higher chance to receive a good review!
  • Always send a start-of-gig message. Let your customers know that you’re beginning their gig and to not be afraid to ask any questions throughout the process.
  • Always send an end-of-gig message. Send your customers a message once they’ve accepted your finished product. This message should thank them for their project, and call for them to leave a review for your service.

Even though Fiverr is heavily saturated, there are a few ways new Fiverr Freelancers can stand out and obtain customers to build their client base. These were 3 strategies I used to gain my first customers and grow the reviews for my gigs!
