In so many cultures, we still found out that women still lack behind men in terms of several aspects such as in the economy. For example, women have less access to financial institutions, women are also treated unequally when it comes to wages and salary ( men get more than women), have less chance at the managerial level at work and women have less chance to come back to work after they have a baby.

In my hometown in a small village in Indonesia, we still found out that women are restricted to pursue their studies in university. It happens because many people still believe that women should be good housewives where their main duties are cooking for their family and raising children, so with these responsibilities women do not need to enter high school or university.

It makes women have low skill and when she decides to work, they end up in low-level careers such as cleaning service or customer service.

Besides, men who have a good education end up in high positions levels of jobs such as managers, doctors, or public servants so there is a gap in wages and salary.

Urgency for taking action

Might be some of the readers still consider it as unimportant things. But in the reality, I notice that so many women suffered because of their lack of skill and education which pushed them into poverty. In some case, so many women experienced married at a young age and because she is still not mature yet, they often get bad treatment from their husband.

Give women their right!

Give women an equal change as men. Through this paper, I encourage all of us to let women get their rights. I mean, we should let women get better access to education, have a right to decide if they want to pursue their career or be a household, and financial institutions can give women equal access as men to get a loan so that women can establish a small or medium enterprise that can boost our economic growth.

If women and men have equal access and can get the same chance in all aspects, I think we can bring our nation to more prosperity and we can decrease social problems such as poverty, bad treatment for women, and infant mortality. If women and men have equal access and can get the same chance in all aspects, I think we can bring our nation to more prosperity and we can decrease social problems such as poverty and infant mortality.
